Shagbark Barbeque Company - Knoxville, TN

Fantastic place to get some authentic BBQ. We have eaten here about 10 times and always left full and pleased. Turkey is moist and tasty. Brisket is very tasty and full of flavor. My favorite is 1/2 chicken because the rub Shagbark uses is phenomenal. I don't know what it is but a definite YES. They also make their own BBQ sauce have several different sides (all good) and different desserts every time we've eaten here. If you're reading this and wondering if you should try them out you will be happy you did! About 1 minute from I-40 exit.

Since moving back to Knoxville a few years ago we were disappointed in the bbq restaurants. No more! We have been so pleased with everything we have tried. My favorite sauces are sweet smoky and white mixed together on the pork sandwich which is so tender and delicious. The turkey is next level. I love the fried okra, mac n cheese and pasta salad. My husband says their wings are the best he's ever had. It's definitely worth the short drive up 40 to the strawberry plains exit. We've been at least a dozen times and the staff is friendly and engaging. So glad we found this place!

Man I can't brag enough about Shagbark. It's killer killer Que. sauces are phenomenal. Familiar faces always that recognize me. I've never had anything bad from them. Their daily specials are always great. Don't sleep on this place.

Finally made it to Shagbark for lunch today. The food was great! Sides are generous and delicious. The pecan pie cobbler had more bread in it than I expected but the flavor was great!

Really great experience. Brisket was tender, ribs were meaty and fell off the bone. Mac and cheese was delicious, pickles were the perfect bite, fried okra was cooked perfectly. Folks were extremely friendly and helpful, great customer service. Best BBQ we've had since we came to Knoxville, will def be back.
